The Show
Twenty-four works,
three rooms,
no queue.
A show that exists only here. Walk the corridor with the arrow keys or by scrolling, stop in front of a work, read the wall label, change the wall behind it, collect what you would hang and curate your own room from what you collected.
All works are digital studies made for garelia. The artists named on the labels are fictional and nothing in the Show is for sale. The rooms follow the rules the magazine writes about: works centred at 150 centimetres, lit at 30 degrees, on three kinds of wall.
Paint as matter: impasto, sand, char, lacquer, thread. Eight works that are about what they are made of, hung on a warm gallery white so that the surface does the talking.
Fields, horizons, photographs and glass. Works that hold light or describe it, hung in a black box where the pale ones advance and the room disappears.
A portrait, an orchard, a circle, a grid, a fold. The figure and what is left when it goes, on a lime plaster wall that flatters paper and bronze alike.
